The recently re-developed Clovelly 460 is a spacious, stable and dry craft primarily aimed at anglers and fisheries but also quite suited to having all the family out on the water with, wether being rowed or powered by an outboard motor. With long sweeping clinker lines she not only looks the part but sits, rows and handles in the water beautifully!
From an anglers’ point of view we have designed the 460 to be uncomplicated and tough, providing a low maintenance craft that is ideal for fisheries where the boat is used a workhorse and a tool and needs to stand up to heavy use over the years.
The 460 can carry up to five adults or has comfortable room for two to fly fish. She is built with a glassed in deck with the void ballasted and foamed, adding yet more strength, buoyancy and further improving stability for fishing.
The front and rear seats are moulded into the boat providing more buoyancy and the ability to fit large storage lockers for tackle and personal belongings etc. The front seat often lends itself as a step for getting in and out of the boat from a platform.
We fit a large hardwood transom pad which is not only incredibly tough but wide enough that you can fit a petrol and electric motor side by side for easy switching over out on the water. We also build in a well under the rear seat to collect rainwater making it easier to bail out and gives a bit of depth for when using a bilge pump, which we can also fit. We don’t like to drill holes in the hull of a boat if we can help it, but we can of course fit a drain bung at the back of the well if you should so choose!
Internally, layouts are totally flexible so please contact us for configuration ideas! Our standard layout would consist of two hardwood centre thwarts and rowing positions as pictured.
Metal rowlocks, heavy duty ‘D’ ring and forward mooring ring are all fitted as standard and we supply each boat with a pair of wooden oars.
