The Clovelly Explorer is our fantastic new 14ft Canadian Canoe that we are excited to introduce to the range in 2012!
We are very pleased to offer a beautiful canoe that is comfortable and has the same charm, features and build qualities as the rest of our boats. This as an outstanding, crafted alternative to it’s all plastic counterparts seen on the market.
The Explorer is capable carrying up to three adults and is even used by some customers for fishing!
As with our entire range of boats the Explorer features our beautiful Iroko hardwood trim throughout, a strong yet lightweight fibreglass hull with moulded tanks fore and aft to provide buoyancy. Slatted hardwood detail on the tanks really finishes the canoe off nicely. We can also build in water tight storage lockers in the tanks for a convenient place to put belongings whilst you’re out on the water.
Whilst there is some weight to it (around 48 kg), the Explorer is still light enough to be carried by two and lifted onto / transported on a car roof rack. For convenience we are supplying each canoe with a compact folding launching trolley for easy manoeuvring! Despite the wood trim the overall weight is actually very similar to that of the all plastic canoes of the same size!
This canoe not only looks fantastic but is great fun on the water for both kids and adults and would be perfect to take away with the family for the summer holidays or for outdoor weekends away!
